This Professional Liability policy is designed for the protection needs of Tourism Operators (mainly Travel Agents and Tour Operators) following Law No. 115 of 3/08/2015, which introduced mandatory coverage.
Article 9 (provisions regarding travel, holidays, and 'all-inclusive' circuits) requires organizers and intermediaries to hold liability insurance in favor of the tourist, to indemnify damages pursuant to Articles 44, 45, and 47.
These 3 articles refer to:

  • Liability for personal injury: damages deriving from non-performance or improper performance of the services forming the travel package;
  • Liability for non-personal damages: damages other than bodily injury, also deriving from the improper performance of package services;
  • 'Ruined Holiday' damage (Loss of Enjoyment): claims for damages associated with wasted vacation time and the irretrievability of the lost opportunity.
